Short Version: We respect your privacy. The Arabic101 Assistant extension does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external third-party servers. All data processing happens directly between your browser, the Arabic101 platform, and Google Calendar APIs.
1. Information We Access & Collect
To provide its core functionalities, the Arabic101 Assistant extension requests specific permissions and accesses certain data:
- Google Calendar Data (Read & Write): We request access to your Google Calendar (`https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar`) strictly to create, update, and manage the `Arabic101 Academy Schedule` and `Arabic101 Academy Schedule - Logs` sub-calendars. We do not read or modify any of your other personal calendars.
- Google Account Information: We request basic profile access (`https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email`) solely to display your connected email address within the extension's user interface, letting you know which account is currently syncing.
- Arabic101 Dashboard Data: The extension locally reads your class timetable, schedule status, and chat messages directly from the Document Object Model (DOM) of your active `dashboard.arabic101.org` session.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information accessed by the extension is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- To synchronize your Arabic101 classes with your Google Calendar.
- To automatically archive past class sessions into a dedicated log calendar.
- To enable the realtime, cross-tab chat interface and provide desktop notifications for incoming messages.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
All temporary data, user preferences (like Auto-Sync toggles or Calendar Modes), and cached chat messages are stored locally on your device using Chrome's `localStorage` and `chrome.storage.local` APIs.
Your Google OAuth2 authentication tokens are securely managed by the native Chrome Identity API. The developers of this extension do not have access to your passwords, tokens, or personal Google data.
4. Third-Party Services
The extension acts as a bridge between two platforms. Therefore, your use of the extension is also subject to the privacy policies of those respective services:
- Google Privacy Policy
- Arabic101 Privacy Policy (Refer to the official Arabic101 website)
5. Revoking Access & User Rights
You have full control over your data and permissions. You can stop the synchronization and revoke the extension's access at any time:
- Within the Extension: Click "Sign out Google" from the extension's profile menu to remove local access.
- Via Google Account Settings: You can permanently revoke the extension's access to your Google Calendar by visiting the Google Account Permissions page and removing the "Arabic101 Extension".
- Removing the Extension: Simply uninstalling the extension from Google Chrome will delete all locally cached data and preferences from your device.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any updates will be published on this page, and the "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised.
7. Contact Us
